Location: Fort Worth, TX | Duration: 6+ months | 100% onsite; local candidates preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assists the controller with monthly financial closing, reporting, and forecasting processes; coordinates team journal entries, reconciliations, and ensures general-ledger accuracy.
- Supports business-unit compliance with internal/external controls, GAAP accounting principles, and Corning policies and procedures.
- Ensures required reporting is completed accurately and on time.
- Provides ongoing finance expertise and decision support to plant management to achieve plant goals and objectives.
- Delivers ad-hoc financial analysis for the plant controller and staff.
- Assists the controller in developing and maintaining planning/budgeting systems, preparing financial and management reports, procedures, and presenting findings.
- Conducts audit programs (e.g., inventory cycle counts) and leads corrective actions to resolve audit-identified issues and ensure plant financial compliance.
- Monitors daily business-unit operations, actively assists in issue resolution, and escalates as appropriate.
- Monitors spending and works with department managers to control costs; researches and details expense variances.
- Drives process improvement within the function and business unit.
- Provides financial analysis for capital projects, cost reductions, and other initiatives as required.
- Sources, selects, and develops talent to support global and entity finance talent needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience.
Skills
- Required:
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and link to business implications.
- Strong analytical, presentation, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Desired:
- Working experience with SAP.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with the North American finance team and business customers/suppliers at all organizational levels.
- Comfortable challenging supplied inputs and questioning existing processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work proactively and independently in a fast-changing environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
