Finance & Accounting Shared Service Center Intern - Summer 2027
This internship offers the opportunity to learn transactional accounting and finance processes within a shared services environment. You’ll work with systems such as Workday, P2P/iValua, CostPoint, and Emburse Travel, and leverage technology like CoPilot, Power BI, RPA, Python, Power Automate, and AI internal tools to maximize process efficiency. The role connects accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, and travel processes to financial reporting for a publicly traded organization, demonstrating how transaction-level processes impact profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and financial metrics like Days Sales Outstanding (DSO). You’ll also engage in reporting across departments to identify valuable data for analysis and business growth.
Responsibilities
- Complete specific process tasks daily, weekly, and monthly to contribute to department goals.
- Leverage tools such as MS Copilot, Power BI, Power Automate, RPA, Python, and others to bring efficiency and automation to processes.
- Ensure assigned processes are fully documented to facilitate smooth training and backup coverage.
- Communicate ideas, issues, and process completion with department leaders and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Escalate delays or task variations for quick resolution.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a 4-year degree in Business or a related field.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule, generally in-office with some remote flexibility based on team needs and performance.
- Quick learner for tasks, financial systems, and organizational needs.
- Strong communication skills to articulate across diverse groups within the organization.
Qualifications
- Prior office experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of MS Office products is a plus.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred but not required.
- Previous internship/co-op, work experience, leadership, teamwork, interpersonal communication skills, or involvement in professional/community/extracurricular activities are valued.

Pay
The proposed salary range for this position is $39,400 - $57,500. Final salary will be influenced by factors such as geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
