About the role
The Finance & Accounting Outsourcing (FAO) Director role is part of Cherry Bekaert's expanding Austin market team. This position involves leading client service delivery, serving as a strategic advisor, and driving growth through client relationship expansion.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of outsourced accounting and advisory services for a portfolio of middle-market clients.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and executives, providing strategic accounting and financial guidance.
- Drive growth through client relationship expansion, cross-selling opportunities, and new business development initiatives.
- Partner with Advisory, Tax, and other service line leaders to identify and pursue opportunities within existing client relationships.
- Lead, coach, and develop accounting professionals while fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Oversee resource planning, team utilization, and engagement profitability.
- Champion process improvements, technology adoption, and operational excellence across client engagements.
- Maintain a high level of personal involvement in client service and relationship management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, outsourced accounting, client advisory services, or a combination of public and private industry experience.
- Experience serving clients ranging from approximately $1 million to $50 million in annual revenue.
- Demonstrated success leading client relationships and delivering accounting and advisory solutions.
- Strong business development mindset with experience expanding client relationships and generating new opportunities.
- Proven leadership experience developing, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong consulting, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage technology and process improvements to enhance service delivery.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, client-service environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience in public accounting, outsourced accounting, client advisory services, or a combination of public and private industry experience.
- Experience serving clients ranging from approximately $1 million to $50 million in annual revenue.
- Proven leadership experience in developing, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong consulting, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $178,400 - $309,800 per year.
