High Tide Theatrical is seeking a Finance & Accounting Intern for its Fall 2026 Internship Program. This position provides practical experience supporting the financial organization and reporting systems of a growing nonprofit theatre company.

About the role

The intern will assist with routine documentation, record organization, and reporting support while learning how nonprofit financial operations connect to productions, fundraising, ticket sales, and organizational planning.

The intern will contribute approximately 5–8 hours per week. Most work will be remote or hybrid, with some required onsite meetings, performances, and events. Mandatory attendance includes monthly staff meetings, Ride the Cyclone College Night on September 11, and The Rocky Horror Show College Night on October 23.

This is an unpaid volunteer internship. Academic credit may be available through the applicant’s school.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing receipts and expense documentation
  • Supporting ticket-sales and payment-processing reports
  • Tracking payment-processing fees
  • Helping prepare routine financial summaries
  • Reviewing records for completeness
  • Organizing digital financial files
  • Assisting with production and event expense tracking
  • Supporting documentation for internal reporting

The intern will not have banking authority, approve expenses, sign checks, or independently make accounting decisions.

Requirements

  • Studying or interested in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, nonprofit management, or related fields
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working with numbers
  • Organized and consistent with documentation
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Comfortable using spreadsheets
  • Interested in learning how financial systems support a mission-driven arts organization
  • At least 18 years old
  • Arrange their own transportation to onsite activities
