Final Assembly - Component Installer 3rd Shift

About the role

Generally expected to work as a valued member of the XL Specialized Trailers team, maintaining production by assembling parts and subassemblies.

Responsibilities

• Prepares work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Positions parts and components by using templates or reading measurements.
• Installs components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
• Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
• Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; wears proper personal protective equipment.
• Identifies and anticipates safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Assists with continuous process improvement by leading and participating in projects such as lean, 5-S, and Kaizen.
• Performs any other tasks assigned to support and improve overall operations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Problem analysis and problem resolution at a functional level.
• Strong customer orientation.

Physical Demands

• Walking, sitting, standing, climbing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs., and move up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work overtime, including Saturday work.

Work Environment

Work is primarily performed indoors in a production facility.
