Filler Operator (12 Hour Days - Rotating Weekends)

fairlife, LLC is a Chicago-based nutrition company creating great-tasting, nutrition-rich dairy products, including fairlife® ultra-filtered milk, Core Power® High Protein Shakes, and fairlife® nutrition plan™. As a wholly owned subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company, fairlife is expanding with a new 750,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Webster, NY, expected to be operational in late 2025. This role supports fairlife’s growth as a leading dairy nutrition provider, with the facility processing approximately 5 million lbs. of milk daily and hiring 250 new employees.
Schedule
This is a day shift position with hours from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, following a rotating 2-2-3 schedule: two days on, two days off, three days on, then two days off, repeating. Team members work every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
Purpose
The Filler Operator is responsible for filling containers of all products supplied by the processing department, ensuring the integrity and sterilization of packaged products throughout the equipment. This includes routine documentation, compliance with legal parameters, product testing, machine cleaning, troubleshooting, and minor repairs.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety, working, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) rules.
- Report to and follow directions from Production Supervisors.
- Safely operate moving equipment and make adjustments to package accurate, defect-free bottles.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality conformity to specifications and standard operating procedures.
- Weigh and inspect filled, capped bottles routinely to verify specifications.
- Work with Quality Assurance to confirm product compliance throughout production runs.
- Communicate with material handlers to supply filling equipment with required materials or cleaning agents.
- Count and record finished or rejected packaged items.
- Clean (CIP) and/or sterilize (SOP) the blow molder, filler, capper, coder, inspection units, and surrounding areas.
- Maintain the filling room in audit-ready condition during and after production.
- Monitor the production line, inspection equipment, and conveyors for problems (e.g., backups, jams, rejects) and resolve stoppages efficiently.
- Troubleshoot machine faults, clear jams, and report malfunctions to supervisors or technicians.
- Perform minor repairs, oil equipment, and participate in Preventive Maintenance.
- Aid in training new personnel or upskilling team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computational skills, including simple math and reasoning.
- Ability to operate equipment effectively after training.
- Troubleshoot small problems and escalate issues requiring additional expertise.
- Work safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety procedures.
- Possess or obtain an Industrial Truck Operator License.
- Handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal communication).
- Filler operating experience, preferably with aseptic bottling.
- Familiarity with HMI (human machine interface) devices and process trending.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Sitting/Standing/Walking/Lifting/Carrying: Stand throughout the shift, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Pushing/Pulling/Bending/Stooping: Push/pull wheeled carts, material containers, and product samples; bend/stoop during cleanup duties.
- Squatting/Kneeling/Crawling/Twisting/Turning: Squat to pick up product or during cleanup; occasional twisting/turning at the waist.
- Climbing/Balancing/Reaching: Step on/off equipment platforms, climb stairs, and reach below/above shoulder level.
- Grasping/Manipulation: Frequent use of hands/fingers for pressing buttons, opening equipment doors, typing, clearing jams, and performing quality checks.
Food Safety Requirements
- Notify supervision of repairs or adjustments that may affect product quality or food safety.
- Comply with the color-coded container policy in Production Areas.
- Perform duties to meet Company, Customer, or Government requirements and standards.
- Initiate action to prevent nonconformities related to food safety, quality, or safety systems.
- Identify and record problems relating to food safety, quality, or processes.
- Control further processing/delivery of nonconforming products until deficiencies are corrected.
- In absence, ensure another employee with the same skill level assumes duties.

Pay
Base pay range: $29—$29 USD per hour. This position is bonus eligible.
