Field Test Engineer

About the role
This is a full-time on-site role for a Field Test Engineer I in the New Jersey/New York market. Assignments may vary daily based on test location and testing requirements, executed at either stationary or mobility test sites. The role involves test execution, quality assurance, manual and software testing, and post-processing logs. Additional duties include maintaining inventory, managing shipments, occasional travel, and sending daily reports.
Responsibilities
- Execute field testing at stationary or mobility test locations
- Perform quality assurance, manual testing, and software testing
- Post-process logs and conduct modem, network, and application log analysis
- Maintain inventory with secure check-in/out procedures
- Manage shipments to and from the office location
- Travel as required
- Send daily reports
- Create detailed technical reports
- Troubleshoot network and device-side issues
- Write defect reports and communicate effectively with customers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in test execution, quality assurance, manual testing, and software testing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid Driver License with a clean driving record and comfort driving
Skills
- Experience with mobile device testing (preferred)
- Experience with automation testing tools (preferred)
- Basic understanding of 5G concepts
- Experience with MediaTek, Samsung, and Qualcomm Chipsets (preferred)
- Knowledge of Verizon field testing including 4G, 5G NSA, and 5G SA technologies
- Basic knowledge of Python for minor script configuration changes
- Basic knowledge of Visual Basic and creating Excel macros
- Experience with Power BI or similar tools for report creation from CSV or DB
- Basic understanding of DB architecture and SQL query formulation
- Strong familiarity with 5G Data Performance KPIs and Call Performance KPIs
- Basic understanding of e911 procedures and LPP
- Familiarity with JIRA systems
- Understanding of IMS protocols
Pay
The expected salary for this position is $50,000 to $80,000 per year. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
