About the role
Deliver expert onsite installation services for residential customers. Play a key role in ensuring a seamless experience for our customers as they connect to Socket's fiber network.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform independent installations and repairs for residential and business internet and phone services.
- Install and configure customer equipment, including routers, modems, and Wi-Fi gateways.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience by being professional, friendly, and knowledgeable during all service visits.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity and service issues with accuracy and efficiency.
- Install, terminate, and test network cabling, adhering to all relevant codes and standards.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of service activities.
- Safely operate company vehicles and equipment, including ladders and bucket trucks, in accordance with all safety protocols and DOT/OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a clean driving record and represent Socket with professionalism in the field.

Experience/Knowledge Required
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in telecommunications, installation, construction, and utility work.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfortable and able to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck).
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Able to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs.
- Able to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
- Willingness to obtain a class E license if offered.
Preferences
- Demonstrated experience with CAT3 and CAT5 cabling, including installation, termination, and testing.
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and basic networking principles.
- Ability to test and install customer ADSL/xDSL circuit orders with the appropriate local exchange carrier (LEC).
- Knowledge of cable pulling, terminations, closet buildouts, and compliance with building and fire codes.
