About the role

At EquipmentShare, we’re hiring a Field Technician (Mechanic) at our Advanced Solutions rental facility in Savannah, GA. This role involves using our tech to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track machine service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues faster. The primary responsibility is to provide maintenance and repair for a variety of Pump, Power & HVAC equipment, and assist in building the future of construction.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create, assign, and monitor work orders
  • Track machine service intervals
  • Order parts
  • Diagnose equipment issues using real-time data
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs at customer job sites
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations
  • Work individually or with other technicians to set up and operate equipment
  • Aid in the training of lower-level technicians
  • Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
  • Stay knowledgeable about OSHA requirements (preferred)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or trade school certificate preferred
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment
  • Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and understanding schematics
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
  • EPA 608 certification is preferred (can be obtained within 6-12 months of employment)
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
  • Physical ability to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely, and lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must be clean-shaven for certain customer sites (if required)
