Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition on the job site or in the shop.
  • Performs routine equipment clean-up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspections.
  • Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and adjusts heavy equipment as required and completes all paperwork on the equipment to which the individual is assigned.
  • Participate in all training programs directed by Manager.
  • Bring to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools, equipment or vehicle that is not in a serviceable condition or unsafe to use.
  • Maintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulations.
  • Completes basic computer tasks including completing work orders, looking up parts, and communicating via email.
  • Communicates with coworkers and customers to ensure top quality equipment is always available and customer expectation is exceeded.
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
  • Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports.
  • Operate vehicle in a safe manner and use field automation systems.
  • Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols.
  • Cooperate with the technical team and share information across the organization.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork.
  • Willing to train and assist other team members with difficult or lengthy repairs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
  • Proven field service experience
  • Must have own tools
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
  • Travel Required: Required to travel to various locations for training classes/seminars. Drive to various vendors to acquire parts for assigned repairs. Position may require several hours of driving daily to job sites.

Qualifications

  • Must be physically able to work in a jobsite environment for extensive periods to include lifting to 50lbs, bending, squatting, crouching, and reaching.
  • Must be physically able to work in extreme conditions on job sites
  • Night / Weekend On-Call work required.
