About the role

The Field Technician manages all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks. They troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, ensuring proper working conditions. They are responsible for service and customer support during field visits and dispatches.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition on the job site or in the shop
  • Performs routine equipment clean-up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspections
  • Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and adjusts heavy equipment as required and completes all related paperwork
  • Participates in all training programs directed by Manager
  • Briefs customers on equipment requirements and makes appropriate recommendations
  • Communicates with coworkers and customers to ensure top-quality equipment and customer satisfaction
  • Provides service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
  • Tie workflow to schedule
  • Diagnoses errors or technical problems and determines proper solutions
  • Produces timely and detailed service reports
  • Operates vehicle safely and uses field automation systems
  • Follows all company field procedures and protocols
  • Cooperates with technical team and shares information across the organization
  • Builds positive customer relationships
  • Exhibits strong teamwork
  • Willing to train and assist other team members with difficult or extended repairs

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment
  • Proven field service experience
  • Own tools
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Flexible to work shifts
  • Military service may be considered in lieu of education/certification experience
