About the role

As our Industrial Dock & Door Field Technician, you will work with warehouse/commercial doors, loading docks, dock levelers, and other related warehouse and industrial equipment at customer locations. This includes inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the equipment to ensure customer equipment runs in peak form and maximizes uptime. You will also fix and maintain machines, mechanical equipment, buildings, and perform welding, steel fabrication, and electrical work as needed. Travel the area in a fully loaded Pape’ service vehicle, perform top-notch work on industrial doors, interact with customers, and ensure jobs are done right.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial dock and door equipment.
  • Perform hydraulic and pneumatic repairs.
  • Maintain and repair machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings.
  • Conduct welding, steel fabrication, and electrical work as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of experience diagnosing and repairing industrial doors or related equipment.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatics experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work under little or no supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think critically through complex situations.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Must provide own tools.

Pay

$25–35/hour (depending on experience).
