About the role

As a Field Technician II you will support hands-on field testing, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical power equipment. The role is field-based, requires regular travel and overtime, and offers a clear path toward NETA certification.

Responsibilities

  • Travel locally and regionally to customer sites to perform electrical testing and maintenance on power distribution equipment.
  • Assist with testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning, and maintaining electrical apparatus such as circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motors, PTs, CCVTs, CTs, and related equipment.
  • Work safely around low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems in varied field environments.
  • Use and learn specialized electrical testing equipment (Ductor, Hi-Pot, power-factor test sets, ratio/saturation test sets).
  • Read and interpret manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to support troubleshooting and repair.
  • Document test results, maintenance work, repairs, and field findings accurately and promptly.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures; participate in job-site safety meetings and hazard identification.
  • Interact professionally with customers on site, representing the company with technical competence.
  • Continue developing technical knowledge and skills toward NETA certification.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in electrical power, utility, industrial, or electrical-contractor environments.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical systems, power distribution equipment, or related apparatus.
  • Experience with electrical testing, commissioning, or maintenance activities.
  • Comfort working in the field approximately 95 % of the time, including travel and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work safely around low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to following safety policies and procedures.
  • NETA certification or equivalent experience.

Skills

  • Interest in developing technical knowledge and progressing through NETA certification levels.
  • Experience in data-center environments (plus).
  • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment (Ductor, Hi-Pot, power-factor test sets, ratio/saturation test sets).
  • Strong communication skills for customer and team interactions.
  • Comfort documenting work clearly and accurately in reports and field logs.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role with approximately 95 % of time spent at customer sites working around low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems. Ideal candidates are based in Nashville, TN; Murfreesboro, Clarksville, or Cookeville, TN are also considered. The company provides:

  • 2–3 NETA certification training classes per year.

Contract-to-hire position; fully onsite in Nashville, TN.
