About the role

The Field Technician is responsible for operational duties such as inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of equipment to ensure safe and reliable pipeline operations. This work includes activities such as running pipeline cleaners, ROW maintenance, and DOT pipeline compliance. Employee(s) in this position will have environmental and safety activities associated with their responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Credits pipeline pigging, hydrate management, etc.
  • Responsible for startup and shut down of pipelines during scheduled or unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Maintains pipeline ROW such as markers, signs, and vegetation exposures.
  • Affords assistance in One-Call - Pipeline Locating, encroachment, excavation & Crossings
  • Maintains records in accordance with Pipeline regulatory requirement.
  • Maintains records in accordance with environmental compliance requirements.
  • Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, manual valve actuators, various types of pumps and injection systems.
  • Performs work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to navigate through various software programs associated with I-pads, mobile phones or laptop computers.

Requirements

  • Likely authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Willing and able to with or without reasonable accommodations:
  • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Occasionally exerts pulling/pushing force of 130 pounds
  • Regularly stoops, squats, kneels, and crouches for durations up to 30 minutes
  • Works extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Available and able to work on-call schedules
  • Works safely near large, hot, high-speed machines
  • Works in conditions that include inclement weather
  • Has extensive knowledge of computer operations
  • To wear personal protective equipment such as, flame-retardant clothing, eye protection, hearing protection, steel toed boots, and hard hats.

Preferred

  • Work experience in natural gas pipeline operations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Pay

This position has a base salary range of $70,200 - $99,000. At Phillips 66, we are committed to pay transparency and competitive, equitable compensation. Each role is assigned a salary grade with a defined pay range, benchmarked against industry peers. Where a candidate offer falls within the posted range depends on the candidate's experience, skills, and alignment with the role’s requirements. Offers are made to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
