About the role
We are seeking a Diesel and Natural Gas Engine Field Technician for our Williston, ND branch. The primary responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing Caterpillar engine and transmission components, as well as troubleshooting gas and diesel engines and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair Caterpillar engine and transmission components.
- Remove, repair, assemble, conduct technical analysis, perform failure analysis, and install Caterpillar engine and transmission components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot gas and diesel engines and electrical systems.
- Plan and organize tasks to control job costs.
- Investigate, analyze, and identify problems to recommend solutions.
Requirements
- Graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school or equivalent experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficient in using a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Standing for up to 8 hours per day, including twisting, bending, squatting, sitting, stooping, and kneeling.
- Flexibility to travel for extended periods to work with customers.
- Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products preferred.
- A strong background in natural gas and diesel engines, including knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and engine components preferred.
- Ability to perform engine and component rebuilds with limited supervision.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar engines and components.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Pay
Hourly pay range: $56.95 - $58.35 (based on skills and experience).
