Field Technician/Courier, Environment Testing Northeast, Syracuse, NY

About the role

The Field Technician/Courier is responsible for the pick-up and delivery of environmental samples from multiple clients in the Syracuse, NY area.

Schedule

Full time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Pay

$18–19 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Document, package, and transport samples in accordance with project-specific sampling and analysis plans/protocols.
• Perform quality control of all assignments and complete required documents.
• Follow and enforce company health and safety policies.
• Assist with data collection and routine sampling as needed.
• Support environmental monitoring programs and client service requests through routine and non-routine sampling, monitoring, and data collection activities, which may involve hazardous material/waste project sites.
• Collect, document, package, and ship samples following project-specific protocols.
• Assist with routine sample preparation and/or analyses, generally on-site, in support of mobile laboratory operations or screening surveys.
• Follow technical instructions and guidance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Physical ability to bend and lift frequently; lift equipment up to 50 pounds when necessary.
• Valid US driver’s license without recent incidents.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.

Qualifications

• Ability to read maps and follow directions.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
