Field Technician C (Charlotte, NC)

About the role

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Field Technician to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through contracts FTI, ADSB, DCNS, and other FSG programs. The role involves field support in DC and Atlanta airspaces.

Responsibilities

• Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacements such as RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449
• Excellent working knowledge of fiber, multiplexes, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, Voice and Data applications
• Working knowledge and usage of various network test equipment: JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope or other T1/DS3 Test sets
• IP Based knowledge with experience configuring routers and switches
• Experience installing equipment racks (wallmount, raised floors, concrete, etc.)
• Ability to obtain FAA Security Clearance from Public Trust background investigation

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
• Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License, and a satisfactory driving record, as conditions of initial (and continued) employment

Preferred Additional Skills

• Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+
• Able to work from home, in an “on-call” status
• Capable of lifting 70 pounds
• Capable of utilizing ladders, and step stools, to reach heights of approx. 10 feet
• Willing to travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 3-hour drive circle of base location
• Technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region, as needed

Pay

The salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $30.04/hr - $56.00/hr.
The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $26.20/hr - $48.79/hr.
