Field Technician
Field Services
The Field Services department plays a critical role in helping our clients make informed decisions by conducting accurate field assessments and collecting data to support safe, sustainable, and compliant solutions. The team takes on multiple roles, tasks, and responsibilities, often simultaneously (i.e., laborer, foreman, technician, scientist), while collaborating closely with the Site Investigation Services (SIS) and Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) teams. They support remediation systems through installation, testing, and repair work, along with other environmental sampling tasks.
Role and Action
- Assist with remediation and vapor mitigation systems and monitoring, not limited to:
- Testing, maintenance, and repairing of vapor mitigation systems, including operation and inspections.
- Oversight of system installation.
- Daily problem solving & constant communication with project managers, clients, and contractors.
- Operation of coring and augering equipment and use of hand and power tools; performing maintenance on equipment.
- Role is best suited for someone who is mechanically inclined and adept with working with their hands on a daily basis as a primary job function.
- Other job duties, including mobilization of drilling and environmental equipment, coordination of sampling of soil, water, vapor, and other media, and surveying and mapping.

- High school diploma required.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred but not required.
- 0-3 years of consulting experience or relevant field experience is a plus.
- Confident working with your hands as a primary job function, as well as learning/repairing mechanical systems.
- Comfortable operating trucks and trailers.
- Muliti-disciplinary skills, including experience with the excavation and utility construction industry, operation and maintenance of tools and equipment, and/or mechanical, plumbing, or electrical industries.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive interpersonal relationships.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Able to read technical specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
- Work-related travel is compensated.
- Willing and able to travel to job sites.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all climates and weather conditions.
- Availability to work outside core business hours.
- Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to pass a company physical.
