Responsibilities
- Perform basic field work including collecting information and measurements of utility locations, collecting GPS data points, reviewing system maps and records, and producing field sketches for accurate as-built documentation.
- MasTec Professional Services will provide detailed training for standard survey and construction practices required for this role for utility design projects.
- Work independently, make field decisions without direct supervision and be responsible for obtaining field data to determine condition of structures under evaluation.
- Provide field support for design to adhere to company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule.
- Compile and submit accurate paperwork and field data for senior staff review.
- Adhere and promote company safety measures at all times.
- Collect field data points using a GPS unit.
- Work with mobile and desktop applications.
- Work in and around active construction sites.
- Communicate with client and sub-contractor construction and install teams to coordinate work.
- Capture detailed and confirmed field data.
Qualifications
- Ability to pass DOT drug test.
- Government contracts require U.S. Citizenship.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as interact with team members, clients and management staff.
- Experience working in field in varying weather and site conditions.
- Able/willing to travel as required for the job.
- Clean driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle.
- Basic computer skills in MS Office programs and field applications for surveying and data management.
- AutoCAD and experience with gas utility installation a plus.
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.
