About the role
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Field Technician for the Company’s Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for each specific program/system (FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, WMSS and others)
- L3Harris supports for the FAA.
- Install, repair, configure, test and complete preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment at the customers’ remote locations.
- Able to work remotely in a scheduled and on-call capacity to various customer locations within your assigned area.
- Occasionally travelling to remote sites outside your assigned area may be needed from time to time to assist with the FAA customer needs and/or requests.
- Able to read/understand/follow equipment drawings and task orders.
- Possess good admin skills (taking notes and documenting what transpired while working at the customer location).
- Work directly with the NOCC, the SAC, and the Helpdesk over the phone on resolving issues in the field.
- Maintain tools, test equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory and personal or company vehicle.
- Be proactive and prepared for assigned tasks prior to dispatching.
- Able to work outside regularly scheduled hours (on-call) when/if needed to meet customer’s needs.
- Lift items up to 32 lbs. and use ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10ft.
- Work with your supervisor (ASL) to ensure all L3Harris policies/procedures and program specific policies/procedures are followed.
- Able to obtain a FAA public Trust.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Preferred Additional Skills: Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+
- Willing to travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 3-hour drive circle of base location.
- Technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region, as needed.
- Capable of utilizing ladders, and step stools, to reach heights of approx. 10 feet
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in high stress and visibility environment
- Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement, such as RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449
- Good working knowledge of fiber, working knowledge of Multiplexes, Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, Voice and Data applications
- Good working knowledge of power testing, AC and DC including 3 Phase AC
- Experience with network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications, DS3 Testing, Digital Testing (BERT), and Analog VG Testing within Bell Core Standards
- Working knowledge and usage of various network test equipment: JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope or other T1/DS3 Test sets
- IP Based knowledge with experience configuring routers and switches
- Experience installing equipment racks (wallmount, raised floors, concrete, etc.)

Pay
The salary range for this role in Colorado Springs is $26.20/hr - $48.79/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
