Field Technician

About the role

The role involves managing Outside Plant (OSP) Telecom field data collection for multiple Cyient customer accounts across the NE Region, NW Region, and SE Region of the United States. At least 70% of the time is spent traveling throughout the US.

Responsibilities

• Engage business and personal property owners, as well as multi-family residences to identify yourself and your intent for being on their property.
• Visit multiple job locations daily and record and analyze existing field conditions related to Telecom poles, Aerial/Underground structures, and Street/Right of Way measurements for future/current Cell Sites.
• Determine ideal locations and situations for above-ground equipment and fiber optic cables, and identify issues in the field that could improve network designs.
• Collect and submit data using various types of handheld electronic GIS equipment, and other handheld equipment such as IKE, Fulcrum, LiDAR, and other equipment.
• Walk one or more miles daily while collecting data.

Requirements

• A permanent residing US address.
• Current authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing Outside Plant (OSP) Telecom field data collection.
• Knowledge of and ability to use various types of handheld electronic GIS equipment and other related equipment.
• Ability to walk long distances and collect data in various environments.
