About the role
The role is for a Traveling Field Technician in the Telecommunications Team based in the NE Region, NW Region, and SE Region of the United States. This position requires at least 70% of your time traveling throughout the US to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
Responsibilities
- Manage Outside Plant (OSP) Telecom field data collection for multiple Cyient customer accounts across the US.
- Engage business and personal property owners, as well as multi-family residences, to identify and explain your presence on their property.
- Visit multiple job sites daily and record and analyze existing field conditions related to Telecom poles, Aerial/Underground structures, and Street/Right of Way measurements for future/current Cell Sites.
- Determine ideal locations and situations for above-ground equipment and fiber optic cables, and identify issues in the field that can improve network designs.
- Collect and submit data using various types of handheld electronic GIS equipment, including IKE, Fulcrum, LiDAR, and other equipment.
- Walk one or more miles daily while collecting data.
- Receive job training in the use of all electronic equipment required to complete the work and outside plant utility recognition/design.
Requirements
- A permanent residing US address.
- Current authorization to work in the United States.
- Able to travel extensively.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in telecommunications or related field.
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of handheld electronic GIS equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to walk one or more miles daily while collecting data.
Skills
- Field data collection experience.
- Experience with GPS and GIS technology.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business and property owners.
- Knowledge of telecom pole, aerial/underground structures, and street/right of way measurements.

Pay
- $50,000 - $60,000 annually.
