Job Title: Field Technician – Cathodic ProtectionJob Description The Field Technician supports pipeline integrity and corrosion control by performing intermediate-level cathodic protection testing, inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance. This role works primarily in the field, collaborating with engineering, integrity management, and construction teams to evaluate cathodic protection systems, collect and analyze data, and recommend corrective actions. The position offers comprehensive training, opportunities to earn industry certifications, and the chance to build a career in a highly specialized niche within the energy and pipeline sector. Responsibilities Perform intermediate-level cathodic protection testing, inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities on pipelines and related assets.Work independently in the field while collaborating with engineering operations, integrity management, and construction teams to evaluate cathodic protection systems.Collect, document, and analyze cathodic protection and corrosion control data to assess system performance.Recommend corrective actions to address deficiencies and improve cathodic protection system effectiveness.Conduct annual, quarterly, and monthly cathodic protection surveys in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.Troubleshoot cathodic protection systems, including rectifiers, test stations, and anode beds, to identify and resolve issues.Identify coating deficiencies and corrosion-related risks on pipelines and associated infrastructure.Support pipeline integrity and corrosion control initiatives across natural gas and hazardous liquid transmission, distribution, terminals, and storage facilities.Collect, document, and maintain accurate corrosion control records to ensure regulatory and procedural compliance.Prepare clear and detailed technical reports summarizing survey findings, deficiencies, and recommended corrective actions.Operate a company vehicle safely to travel to multiple sites and client locations within the assigned region.Interact professionally with team members, clients, and management staff while representing the organization in the field. Essential Skills Ability to perform intermediate-level cathodic protection testing, inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.Experience with cathodic protection systems, including rectifiers, test stations, and anode beds.Ability to collect, document, and analyze corrosion control and cathodic protection data.Capability to prepare technical reports detailing survey findings, deficiencies, and recommended corrective actions.Experience supporting natural gas transmission, distribution, hazardous liquid pipelines, terminals, or storage facilities.Ability to work independently in the field and collaborate effectively with engineering, integrity management, and construction teams.Strong problem-solving skills to identify coating deficiencies and corrosion-related risks and recommend appropriate solutions.Ability and willingness to travel as required within the Philadelphia and New Jersey area.Clean driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle safely.Comfort working in field and construction site environments.Effective communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and management staff. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certification within cathodic protection such as AMPP CP1 or CP2 is preferred.Willingness to learn and obtain additional certifications related to cathodic protection, gas pipelines, and corrosion control.Motivation to build a long-term career in a niche industry focused on pipeline integrity and corrosion prevention.Openness to comprehensive training provided by the employer, including opportunities to gain multiple industry certifications.Adaptability to work across different sites, clients, and operating conditions in the field. Work Environment This role is primarily field-based within a construction and pipeline operations environment. The Field Technician travels regularly to multiple sites and client locations, primarily within the Philadelphia and New Jersey area, to perform cathodic protection surveys, testing, and maintenance. Work is conducted outdoors and at active construction or operational sites, requiring comfort with varying weather conditions, physical activity, and adherence to safety protocols. The position involves operating a company vehicle for regional travel and using specialized cathodic protection equipment, such as rectifiers, test stations, and measurement instruments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth Meeting, PA. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
