Field Technician
Responsibilities
- Perform field testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt in accordance with standard test methods and procedures.
- Accurately collect, record, and maintain test reports, letters, and other pertinent field data for each project.
- Ensure all project documents are neat, orderly, and complete, following established documentation standards.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with the Project Manager and Supervisor regarding all aspects of field operations.
- Support quality control and quality assurance activities on data center and construction projects.
- Interpret and work from blueprints and construction documents as needed to perform testing and inspections.
- Apply previous soil and concrete testing experience to verify that construction materials meet project specifications.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use testing equipment, including nuclear gauges when certified, in a safe and responsible manner.
- Travel to various job sites throughout the Phoenix metro area using a company-approved vehicle, maintaining a safe driving record.
- Manage time effectively to complete assigned inspections and tests in a timely and organized manner.
Essential Skills
- 1–5 years of previous soil and concrete testing experience.
- Thorough understanding of standard test methods for field testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt.
- Experience supporting quality control and quality assurance on construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Excellent verbal communication skills for clear interaction with project managers, supervisors, and site personnel.
- Strong written communication skills for preparing accurate test reports and project documentation.
- Good organizational skills to manage multiple tests, reports, and project files.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic in a field-based environment.
- Current valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous testing experience in the Southwest region.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- ACI certification preferred.
- ATTI Field certification preferred.
- Nuclear gauge certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a timely and reliable manner.
- Strong attention to detail in both testing and documentation.
- Comfort working on large-scale data center and construction projects.
Work Environment
- This is a full-time, field-based role serving projects across the Phoenix metro area.
- You will work primarily on active construction sites, including large data center facilities, performing on-site testing and inspections.
- The position involves regular travel between job sites within the region, requiring consistent driving with a valid license and clean driving record.
- The work environment is fast-paced and project-driven, with opportunities to support great projects for a top-tier firm.
- Overtime is available based on project needs.
- You will work closely with project managers, supervisors, and construction teams, using standard field testing equipment and following established safety and quality procedures.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
