About the role
Depending on their level of knowledge and experience, the Field Specialist applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks or jobs for a variety of products and services. Entry and intermediate level roles receive direct supervision in support of their duties and assignments. Senior and fully-qualified level roles provide direction to junior specialists, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, and make recommendations to alter development and designs to improve product quality and procedures.
Familiarity with field concepts enables senior roles to support research, plan assignments, and accomplish goals. Intermediate and Senior positions act as the key interface with the client at the well site, carrying responsibilities for completing service assignments and managing other Weatherford personnel. Senior roles involve more advanced technology.
Responsibilities

- Demonstrates effective safety leadership for the health and safety of subordinates and visitors on Company premises (Supervisors & Managers).
- Familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in compliance and improvement of Weatherford’s Management System.
- Maintains service quality as a priority across all business areas and seeks continuous improvement.
- Participates in daily operations and safety meetings, toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and reports issues promptly using appropriate tools.
- Maintains equipment, facilities, and work areas in presentable and safe working conditions.
- Monitors and analyzes data to recommend services and solutions.
- Performs job planning, preparation of tools and equipment, mobilization, job execution, and submits all job-related data (e.g., job reports, WPTS data entry, observation cards, service tickets/logs) with required signatories to ensure timely client invoicing.
- Available on a 24-hour call basis to respond to customer needs.
- Tests, operates, and maintains tools and equipment according to work instructions, policies, and procedures in safe and presentable conditions, aligned with training and competence level.
- Develops and maintains positive client relationships to ensure repeat business.
- Delivers superior Service Quality to the client.
- Effectively manages inventory and supplies required at the well site.
- Follows up on failures with the R&M team and ensures failure reports are closed with clients.
- Contributes to, participates in, or leads equipment failure investigations supporting Root Cause Analysis reports.
- Oversees, leads, and mentors Field Operation crew members where the role requires.
- Acts as a technical advisor to management and interprets data for client representatives to optimize services (Senior level).
- Performs engineering checks on client location, including hand calculations, software computations, or new computations based on the latest data (Intermediate and Senior levels).
- Manages the installation of complex equipment and/or services in the field (Senior level).
- Performs other duties safely as assigned by the supervisor within physical constraints.
- Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Clearly communicates expectations, roles, and responsibilities to reports (Supervisors & Managers).
- Demonstrates financial responsibility, ensuring costs are within approved budgets and processed within agreed time frames.
- Develops own career by completing necessary training to enhance knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Engages regularly with line managers to discuss performance, objectives, and opportunities for skill enhancement.
- Actively supports talent management through Weatherford’s performance management process, including talent assessments, succession planning, and coaching (Supervisors).
- Collaborates with Human Resources and Training Development to drive recruitment and retention strategies for key personnel (Supervisors).
- Demonstrates leadership, ethical behavior, and adherence to Weatherford standards at all times.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- High School Diploma.
- Fundamentals of Mechanics, Electricity, Electronics, Pneumatics, and/or Hydraulics.
- Mathematics, Basic Physics, and Chemistry.
- Computer fundamentals.
- Critical thinking, active learning and listening, complex problem solving.
- Good reading and writing skills, strong judgment, and decision-making aligned with policies and procedures.
- Time management and Quality Control Analysis to ensure products meet required standards.
- Service Orientation.
- Physically capable of performing the tasks required for the role.
- Information and task ordering, with the ability to identify potential problems and solutions.
- Ability to react effectively and efficiently in operating tools and machinery.
- Ability to visualize tools and products during assembly, repair, or modifications.
- Mathematical Reasoning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Certificate from an accredited Technical/Vocational School.
Travel
This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to 50-75%.
