Field Sourcing Specialist
Job Summary
We are hiring a Field Sourcing Specialist in Goodlettsville, TN. Airgas offers comprehensive family benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance. The ideal candidate should have sourcing experience and be able to articulate complex ideas clearly.
Job Duties
- Foster and coordinate all communication between Air Liquide and bidders.
- Aid in developing technical specifications and scopes of work with internal customers.
- Evaluate, qualify, and recommend bidders.
- Develop and issue formal requests for quotes (RFQ's).
- Guide job walks and bid clarification meetings with internal customers.
- Negotiate final price and commercial terms.
- Make sourcing recommendations to internal customers.
- Develop and finalize materials and services contracts as required.
- Identify and address business risks during the bidding and sourcing process.
- Ensure that all contractors are appropriately pre-screened for safety.
- Initiate and negotiate hold harmless and indemnification documentation for new contractors.
- Confirm that critical suppliers are on the approved supplier list.
- Attend and actively participate in budget planning meetings for assigned BU or zone.
- Participate in TAR planning meetings and guide the procurement planning process.
- Maintain TAR activity tracking sheets for each major TAR.
- Maintain current listings of active and upcoming tactical (capital and expense) sourcing initiatives.
- Develop business plan strategies / opportunities for BU or zone spend in unmanaged categories.
- Document and report all cost savings associated with sourcing activities.
- Provide supporting documentation on sourcing activities as backup to purchase orders.
- Maintain current listings of contractors utilized in assigned BU or zone.
- Advocate the use of managed suppliers (frame agreements).
- Report events of non-compliance (leakage) of frame agreements to appropriate category managers.
- Identify opportunities for creation of frame agreements.
- Facilitate solutions for quality or performance alignment with non-managed suppliers.
- Provide on-site sourcing support during major plant turnarounds (TARS).
- Facilitate the sale of surplus assets.
- Share support and excellent purchasing insights with field buyers within assigned BU or zone.
- Handle emergency calls after hours and weekends and take timely required action to address internal customers' needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5 years purchasing experience supporting operations or manufacturing, or 5 years operations with strong commercial skill sets.
- Some sourcing experience in a Supply Chain Management organization.
- Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter who approaches challenges with an innovative perspective and a focus on continuous process improvement.
- Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and build strong, trusting relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
