Field Services Engineer
About the role
We are seeking an Intermediate Field Service Engineer to join our USA Service Team. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, you will provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and training support for our SIFT-MS instruments across a diverse customer base. You will act as a trusted technical partner to customers, helping them maximize the value of their Syft solutions.
Responsibilities
- Represent Syft professionally while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Partner with customers to maximize the performance and value of their SIFT-MS instruments.
- Deliver technical support, training, installations, preventative maintenance, and repairs.
- Build trusted customer relationships by understanding operational needs and providing practical technical solutions.
- Collaborate with global teams to improve service delivery, product performance, and customer outcomes.
- Contribute to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical resources, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.
- 1–2 years of field service experience.
- Hands-on experience with scientific or diagnostic instrumentation.
- Multidisciplinary technical skillset spanning mechanical, electrical, software, or scientific disciplines.
- Experience partnering directly with customers and delivering successful technical outcomes.
- Experience working in regulated environments and service operations.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and collaborate across multiple time zones.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Mass Spectrometry and/or semiconductor manufacturing (nice to have).
- Experience with coding, software, or firmware environments (nice to have).
- Experience working with electronics (nice to have).
Skills
- Technical proficiency in scientific or diagnostic instrumentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong customer relationship management skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.

Schedule
This is a remote role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Regular travel to customer sites throughout California and across the USA is required, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues globally and occasionally visit our offices in Europe, Asia, or New Zealand.
