About the role

LDI Connect is a high-performing technology services company with a proven track record of creating rewarding careers. We are expanding our team of Field Service Technicians and looking for mechanically inclined individuals who love working with their hands and prefer being on the road over a desk job. This role involves traveling throughout New York, specifically around the Brooklyn area, as a Field Service Technician Trainee.

Responsibilities

  • Follow a planned maintenance schedule to ensure all equipment operates within manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a variety of networked office systems.
  • Perform quality assurance and preventative maintenance calls at manufacturer-recommended intervals or as required based on volume and applications.
  • Respond to and resolve all emergency service calls within 4 hours or less (exceptions apply).
  • Maintain personal inventory and car stock of commonly used and consumable spare parts, replenishing inventory at least once per week.
  • Maintain an electronic file of all work performed, dated with appropriate meter readings and applicable comments.
  • Plan service work at the beginning of the day by reviewing open service calls and prioritizing them by importance and complaints.
  • Effectively communicate with customers regarding any unresolved service calls and the necessary course of action.
  • Report all problems, concerns, and issues immediately to the Service Manager.
  • Ensure QA/PM planning is scheduled to minimize impact on customers’ operations.
  • Ensure all equipment operates at a minimum 95% uptime as measured quarterly and by industry standards.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is clear, complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and the ability to think and work independently.
  • Additional responsibilities may be added, changed, or removed based on the development and future requirements of the position.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to think and work independently.
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting ability.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Pay

The typical hourly range for this role is between $19.00 and $20.00. The offered hourly rate will depend on experience and/or education.
