$28–$38/hr DOE + 1.5× paid overtime + per diem

Full-time; 75% travel, with multiple days or weeks at customer sites until each job is completed

About the role
Our client, a leader in the industrial machinery industry, is looking for a Field Service Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot, and service servo-driven and hydraulic press brake systems. This highly technical, hands-on role requires experience with press brakes, servo systems, PLCs, motors, and industrial electrical controls. The ideal candidate can independently troubleshoot equipment in the field, work directly with customers, and travel extensively throughout North America. The position offers stability and strong earning potential while supporting critical manufacturing environments nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and start up servo-driven and hydraulic press brake systems
- Diagnose and repair servo motors, drives, PLCs, HMIs, hydraulics, and motion control systems, including VFDs, sensors, encoders, and safety circuits
- Perform system upgrades, retrofits, and software updates
- Interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and ladder logic
- Support control system integration and provide advanced field troubleshooting
- Train customers on equipment operation and maintenance
- Provide technical phone support
- Maintain accurate service reports and documentation
- Communicate recurring issues and service findings to Engineering
- Build customer relationships while representing the company professionally in the field
Requirements
- Hands-on experience servicing hydraulic/pneumatic press brakes or similar CNC industrial machinery
- Strong understanding of servo motors, servo drives, and motion control systems
- Experience with PLC-based control systems
- Ability to independently diagnose and troubleshoot
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project sites
