Field Service Technician, Mechanical Cutting – Elko, NV area.

About the role
As the Field Service Technician, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and/or electrical aspects of underground mechanical cutting equipment and components at high-profile mining and tunneling sites. The role includes new equipment commissioning and training at customer sites with minimal supervision, covering primarily the Western United States with occasional travel elsewhere, including minimal overseas training in Austria.
This role requires approximately 50% travel, and you will be provided with a company vehicle. You must be comfortable working underground and on surface sites.
Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions
- Adjust equipment and repair/replace defective parts, components, or systems according to scopes of work
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance
- Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Stay current with industry, customer, product developments, and technical best practices
- Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction
- Stay current and in compliance with all Sandvik, customer, state, and federal regulatory safety policies
- Ensure customer satisfaction within the area of primary responsibility
Requirements
- Attributes of a safety champion, capable of working alone and stopping work if required
- Excellent troubleshooting ability with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
- Must conform to ISO standards
- Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields, or equivalent years of professional field/technical experience
- Minimum of 7 years of industry-related experience
- Technical experience to include diesel, low voltage, and high voltage electrical
- Success in team environments, with excellent communication skills
- Previous success in self-motivated roles
- Previous success in customer satisfaction
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret equipment schematics

Pay
$35.00 to $50.00/hour
Schedule
This role requires at least 50% travel, via truck or air.
