About the Role

Sunbelt Rentals is a rapidly growing rental business in North America. We strive to be the customer's first choice in the equipment rental industry, offering a wide range of equipment from pumps to scaffolding to general construction tools.

We are seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose, and make advanced repairs at customer locations. The primary equipment includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialized lines may include large-scale power-generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas-related equipment.

Responsibilities

The Road Mechanic/Technician role involves:

• Performing preventive maintenance on various makes and models of equipment
• Diagnosing and making advanced repairs to ensure minimal downtime
• Working in a safety-focused environment with an experienced team

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should:

• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Have 1-2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment (such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil & gas equipment)
• Have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record

Qualifications

You should possess:

• Basic knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
• Flexibility to handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual skills (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include:

• Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds
• Working both indoors and outdoors as required by the job
