Field Service Technician - Laboratory Products

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration and preventative maintenance (PM) on weighing equipment without assistance, within our Lab Business Area.
• May be required to assist others on installations, projects and/or repairs as necessary.
• Calibrate, perform preventive maintenance, and repair equipment while keeping track of job assignments and a detailed schedule.
• Identify the root causes of service issues the first time using your keen knowledge of the products and your comfort with hand tools and calibration equipment.
• Update service records and complete service reports on time and ensure data integrity via company issued laptop.
• Traveling overnight 20-30% of the time.
• Lifting and carrying 50+ pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Standing and squatting for long periods of time.
• Working out of your home at or near [location].
• Working evenings and weekends occasionally.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with an aptitude in the areas of Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Technology or Computer Science or equivalent education and experience in a technical support role, technical troubleshooting or technical installation of electronics or electromechanical technology.
• Worked in field service or have related experience in similar environment.
• Calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair skills.
• The ability to identify the root causes of service issues the first time using your keen knowledge of the products and your comfort with hand tools and calibration equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills, detail orientation, and great verbal and written communication skills.
• The desire and ability to promote and sell services and products, generating sales leads.
• Basic comfort with laptop computers.
• A valid driver's license and a safe driving history.
• We consider experience in the field of chemistry a plus.
