Field Service Technician - John Deere Equipment

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on golf and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
• Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
• Performs diagnosis and repair in the field as required.
• Mentors Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians.
• Conducts or supports customer clinics.
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Maintains the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
• Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties.
• Participates in the on-call program.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience (or equivalent) performing service repairs.
• 3+ years servicing heavy equipment.
• Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
• Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment.
• Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
• Supplied with own tools.
• Valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50lbs repeatedly.
• Repetitive hand use up to 8 hours a day.
• Walking or standing up to 8 hours a day.
• Sitting up to 4 hours a day.
• Squatting/kneeling up to 3 hours a day.
• Computer/keyboard work up to 2 hours a day.
• Driving up to 8 hours a day.

Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of diesel, mechanic, service, repair, technician, agriculture, heavy machinery, large engine, small engine, hydraulics, pneumatics, diagnostics, maintenance, tractor, and John Deere.

Pay

Pay Range: Hourly rate: $45.00 - $70.00 per hour, based on experience. Monthly Bonus: Potential to earn monthly bonuses through our Technician Incentive Plan! Bonus amounts are calculated based on billed hours, efficiency, and productivity.
