Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostics and Repairs: Perform complex on-site diagnostics and repairs on Wirtgen and John Deere construction equipment.
- Workplace Safety: Perform tasks in accordance with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Training and Development: Participate in required Service Training programs.
- Knowledge Maintenance: Stay updated on Wirtgen, John Deere, and competitive products.
- Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain the condition of the mobile service vehicle, trailer, inventory, tools, and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience performing service repairs.
- Technical Expertise: Experience with repairs and maintenance using special tools and Technical Manual procedures, particularly on specialized machines. Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostics.
- Industry Knowledge: Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of Wirtgen or construction equipment.
- Mechanical Background: Ability to perform complex repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures. Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in off-road, construction, or heavy equipment.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills; experience with Service ADVISOR™ or similar diagnostic tools preferred.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Toolset: Possession of toolset in alignment with the company's requirements of the role. Tool checklist will be completed in the interviewing process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Degree or Certificates: Advanced or Master Service Technician certifications and degree in Diesel Repairs, Heavy Equipment Technology, or related field.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience working on the John Deere line and competitive products.
Physical Requirements
- Driving: Must be able to drive and travel in a vehicle. For the purposes of driving, must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Physical Conditions: Must be able to lift 50 pounds. This position is classified as a Type 2 driver (operates a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating exceeding 10,000 pounds, does not possess a CDL Class A or B license). Type 2 Drivers are required to hold and maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (ME Certificate) in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, including periodic medical recertification and adherence to FMCSA compliance reviews.
Pay
$37.00-$46.00 per hour. The individual hourly rate will be based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
