Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced maintenance and repair tasks on aerospace and defense systems.
- Lead the installation and commissioning of equipment, ensuring adherence to specifications.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and collaborate with engineering teams for resolution.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior field service technicians.
- Deliver detailed training sessions to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Maintain and update comprehensive records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
- Ensure all fieldwork complies with safety standards and regulations.
- Manage and track inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment.
- Produce detailed technical reports for internal and customer review.
- Travel to customer sites as necessary, including potential international locations.
Qualifications
- You Must Have:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience as a technician or in a related field.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
- Experience using troubleshooting techniques.
- Understanding of electrical wiring concepts.
- Ability to frequently travel outside the continental US, typically for extended periods of time.
- Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
- Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
- Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
- Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
- Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
- Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
- We Prefer:
- An associate's degree in a related field of study.
- Experience with FCC or FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL).
- Prior experience with Security+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and/or A+.
- Basic understanding of Spectrometer, Oscilloscope, and/or Pitot Static equipment gauges.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
- Experience with software and firmware updates for technical equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
Essential Functions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
- Hand and finger dexterity to work with small mechanical components and tools.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials.
- Ability to travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice.
- Ability to work in a combination of office and field environments.
- Ability to read detailed technical manuals, schematics, and computer screens.
- Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems accurately.
- Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments, such as industrial sites or construction areas.
- Ability to detect auditory signals from machinery or equipment, which may indicate issues.
- Ability to navigate various work environments, including climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and working at heights.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Strong awareness of safety protocols and ability to adhere to safety guidelines in potentially hazardous environments.
- Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.

- The Field Service Technician II provides advanced technical maintenance, repair, and support services on equipment.
