About the Role

The Field Service Technician II provides advanced technical maintenance, repair, and support services on equipment. This role requires expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, along with the ability to guide and support junior technicians. The technician will collaborate closely with engineering teams to implement solutions and improve product performance.

You'll be responsible for installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and modifying products, as well as updating and tracking the status of all field-related equipment. You'll build and maintain effective relationships with customers and provide them with onsite training.

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, specializing in manned and unmanned aircraft systems integration. Its capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training, and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to SNC customers for quick problem assessment and corrections for field units.
  • Document all customer interactions and implement or support hardware, software, or training issue changes according to approved SNC instructions.
  • Ensure punctuality and preparedness for scheduled work hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel to remote locations worldwide with relatively short notice.
  • Perform assigned maintenance tasks with minimal to no supervisory guidance or oversight.
  • Follow guidance from shift lead supervisor for daily taskings, expectations, and priorities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience as a technician or in a related field (higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience).
  • Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
  • Experience using troubleshooting techniques.
  • Understanding of electrical wiring concepts.
  • Ability to frequently travel outside the continental US, typically for extended periods of time.
  • Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 90/90 rotation.
  • Ability to deploy for extended periods to various OCONUS operating locations.
  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Willing and able to work extended hours, holidays, and shift schedules as required.
  • Ability to obtain a current/valid passport and visa for international travel.
  • A United States Government Security Clearance is required for employment. Applicants without a current clearance will be processed for one by SNC prior to employment.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Associate's degree in a related field of study.
  • Experience with FCC or FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL).
  • Prior experience with Security+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and/or A+.
  • Basic understanding of Spectrometer, Oscilloscope, and/or Pitot Static equipment gauges.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
  • Experience with software and firmware updates for technical equipment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
