Field Service Technician II
About the role
The Field Service Technician II role involves providing field support to clients, focusing on commissioning, troubleshooting, repair or retrofitting mechanical and electrical systems. This position requires close collaboration with various departments and interfaces with clients and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Compile O&M information
- Transmit critical O&M information during a project
- Aid in compiling the final sets of IOM manuals
- Create legible "red-line" drawings to submit to Project Manager
- Direct the field commissioning of a project
- Troubleshoot all mechanical and electrical equipment
- Document the commissioning of the mechanical and electrical portions of the project
- Interface with other Field Engineers, Project Engineers, and Project Managers
- Assist the Production Department in assembly or training of factory personnel
- Aid in Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions
- Perform or oversee QC checks as needed
Requirements
- Significant project field experience in construction support, startup, repair, and maintenance work
- Experience with verification of compliance with ASHRAE, ASME, and other relevant codes and practices
- Ability to travel extensively to both domestic and international job sites
- Must have or can obtain applicable safety certifications including OSHA10 General Construction and NFPA-70E
- Safe driving record
Skills
- Ability to read drawings and schematics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including MS Office projects
- Exposure to at least one brand of PLC or building controls
- Ability to work independently at the job site
Qualifications
- Education and Training: HVAC Trade school and/or apprenticeship training preferred. Military training and/or technical work experience could be considered in lieu of trade school certification.
