About the role
The Field Service Technician I will assist senior Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters.
Responsibilities
- Takes direction from senior site personnel.
- Assists with troubleshooting of AC and DC power systems.
- Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.
- Uses hand tools effectively.
- Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Manages site inventory.
- Follows site safety plan and safe work practices.
- Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).
- Interfaces with project subcontractors.
- Represents RES in professional manner to project stakeholders.
- Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.
- Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
- Rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.
- Presents, supports, and leads by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
Safety
- Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.
- Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
- Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
- Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
- Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
- Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
- Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
Qualifications
- High school/GED General Education required.
- 1+ years or more Related maintenance experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of:
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Electrical power systems
- Drawings
- Basic circuit theory
- OSHA regulations
- Hand tools
Physical requirements and environment
- Rarely: Climbing, Crouching, Kneeling, Pulling 5-15 lbs., Pushing 5-15 lbs., and Stooping required.
- Occasionally: Carrying 5-15 lbs., Pinching, Lifting 5-15 lbs., and Walking required
- Frequently: Gripping required.
- Constantly: Reading, Grasping, Handling, Hearing, Reaching, Vision, Repetitive Motion, Sitting, and Standing required.
- Rarely exposed to Wet, Noise, and Vibration in the working environment.
- Occasionally exposed Extreme Cold, Extreme Heat, and Humidity in the working environment.
- Frequently exposed to Hazards in the working environment.

Pay
Anticipated base salary range: $25.96 - $32.45
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
Schedule
Domestic travel 5-15% required.
