Field Service Technician I
About the role
We are hiring a Field Service Technician I in Riverdale, IL for Airgas Specialty Products (ASP). ASP is the premier US industrial ammonia supplier for denox metal treatment, water treatment, chemical processing, and ammonia refrigeration.
Responsibilities
- Support the Airgas field service team and plant operations, collaborating to achieve daily goals.
- Nurture solutions and align with customers and corporate staff regarding various systems and processes.
- Manage the recovery of ammonia liquid and vapor from multiple sources, including refrigeration systems, storage tanks, and pipelines, ensuring environmental and team safety.
- Steward the installation and maintenance of ammonia tanks, piping, and pumps to ensure long-term reliability and excellence.
- Provide support and share technical insights with the Airgas Specialty Products sales team.
- Maintain proper parts inventory in service vans and the warehouse to support a seamless workflow for the entire team.
- Thoughtfully record activities via work orders and service agreements to ensure transparency and quality of service.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming environment through your interactions and daily presence.
- Ensure vehicle safety and reliability by keeping trucks, trailers, and vans in excellent and secure condition for the well-being of everyone on the road.
- Maintain site-specific training records with attention to detail, supporting our culture of continuous learning and safety.
Requirements
- At least 25 years old
- Class A CDL with at least 2 years' CMV experience, tanker/hazmat endorsements required before the hire date
- Graduation from an accredited truck driving school with a diploma counts as 1 year of the required experience
- No preventable accidents of any kind in the last 3 years
- No more than 2 minor tickets in the previous 3 years
- No serious violation ticket (speeding 15+, reckless driving, etc.) in the previous 3 years
- No suspensions of CDL in the previous 3 years except for "Failure to pay child support."
- No DUI in the last 7 years
- Able to lift 60 lbs. or more
- A high school diploma, technical diploma, or equivalent preferred
- Tanker experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ammonia experience preferred

Pay
$42.46 per hour
Schedule
95% travel, must be flexible
Benefits
- Safety Bonus Pay: up to $1500.00 annually
- Per Diem: up to $10,000.00 (200 nights/year x $55)
- Hotel and Travel Accommodations Covered by Airgas
- Referral Bonus Pay: $1000
- Paid weekly via direct deposit
