Field Service Technician - Compressed Air
Arkansas Industrial Machinery Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Tavoron, is the region’s leading industrial productivity services company serving the manufacturing and processing industries with equipment and services including compressed air, vacuum, blowers, and cooling water systems. We are growing and seeking an additional full-time Field Service Technician to join our team.
About the role
This position blends electrical and mechanical aptitudes, ideal for someone with superior troubleshooting talent, disciplined work habits, and strong interpersonal communication skills. You will perform field service on air compressors and related equipment, ensuring reliability and optimal performance for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of air compressors, compressed air dryers, filtration systems, and related equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to manufacturer and company standards.
- Install air compressors and auxiliary components, including piping, controls, and electrical connections.
- Interpret and work from equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to explain service findings, recommendations, and maintenance needs.
- Complete service reports, documentation, and inventory tracking accurately and on time.
- Maintain professionalism, safety awareness, and pride in workmanship in all customer environments.
- Participate in on-call rotations, overtime, and travel as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in field service, maintenance, or repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience servicing air compressors, compressed air dryers, or refrigeration systems.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, including 3-phase power, control wiring, and troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical skills related to rotating equipment, pneumatics, and fluid systems.
- Competent in diagnosing issues quickly and accurately using meters, gauges, and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple service calls, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Moderate to good computer proficiency for service documentation, emails, and work orders.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Qualifications
- HVAC experience and EPA certification are strong assets.
- Relevant certifications in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems are a plus.
- 1-2 years of previous mechanical/service experience is preferred.
- High School or Vocational School Mechanical program preferred.
