Field Service Technician

Description

The Technical Services Support Technician will provide technical support for assigned corporate accounts and offer plants technical expertise, field support, and troubleshooting and analysis to address machinery and operational issues. This role involves collaborating with top shop and back shop customers and Smurfit Westrock employees to achieve optimal customer satisfaction. The position is located at the Battle Creek, MI facility.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience in the corrugated manufacturing packaging industry; machinery/operational experience
• Basic knowledge of electricity and electrical components; basic computer knowledge, ability to read blueprints, PLC, and schematics
• Demonstrated technical and mechanical acumen
• Proven ability to handle multiple competing priorities
• Strong communication skills with ability to adjust communication style and interact across all levels of the organization
• Ability to communicate with customers to ensure alignment and satisfaction and operate with customers' best interests in mind
• Ability to cooperate in both interpersonal and team relationships to foster enthusiasm and maintain mutual trust, candor, and respect for others
• Travel required

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of wraparound case packers, case erectors, tray formers and mandrel forming equipment
• Working knowledge of the technical aspects of paper manufacturing, corrugation/conversion, and supply chain considerations
• Knowledge of packaging machines and how they operate with corrugated machinery
• Ability to keep accurate records and present contribution reports to quantify the Smurfit Westrock value to our customers

Pay

$65,625 - $109,375 SALARY

Schedule

80%-90% travel, 8a-5p M-F when in shop
