About the role
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of PD monitoring systems. This role involves significant domestic travel to customer sites, often in high-voltage environments. End client is a reputed data center. The position focuses on practical, hands-on tasks including system installation, system testing, and basic repairs, while ensuring all safety procedures are strictly followed.
Responsibilities
- Install and commission PD monitoring systems at client substations.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on installed PD monitoring equipment.
- Assist with system testing and calibration to ensure proper functioning.
- Supervise contractors during installation to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic operational issues on-site.
- Follow strict safety protocols, including completing mandatory safety training and adhering to client emergency procedures.
- Lift up to 50 pounds, move equipment, and work outdoors when needed.
- Travel by car or air for extended periods, as required, to reach client sites.
Qualifications
- Relevant technical certification or vocational training in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Candidates with Electrical / Electronic or Mechanical degree are eligible.
- Practical, hands-on experience with the installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and remotely for extended periods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Europe up to 75% of time.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to rent a car.
- Eligibility to work in the Europe is required.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and periodic drug tests.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in the power industry, particularly in substations or high-voltage asset maintenance.
- Familiarity with Partial Discharge detection, monitoring systems.
