The Field Service Technician, AMS Rotator Senior is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing natural gas compression equipment. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. This position will work closely with external customers and internal team members to ensure that all equipment is functioning efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and performs job activities in a manner consistent with Kodiak’s procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Troubleshoots complex repairs and major equipment overhauls.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses all levels of compressor system failures.
  • Optimizes compression equipment performance.
  • Completes proper reports and actions required by the area’s operating procedures/policies.
  • Analyzes job parts and supply inventory to effectively communicate with Supply Chain, ensuring sufficient parts for optimal job performance.
  • Prioritizes repair work when there are competing demands.
  • Assesses repair/replacement needs and identifies the best solution.
  • Performs consistent inspections and maintenance of units to proactively ensure unit health.
  • Provides 24/7 coverage for the duration of each 14-day shift.
  • Works overtime and is available for on-call rotations, including work after regular hours, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of compressor maintenance or related industry experience required.
  • Caterpillar G3600/G3500 Natural Gas Engine experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Demands

  • Requires operation of heavy equipment.
  • Requires standing for up to 75% of the time.
  • Requires climbing ladders or stairs.
  • Intermittent lifting of over 50 lbs from the ground.
  • High noise environment (>85dbA) will occur with ear protection.
  • Potential, controlled, exposure to hazardous chemicals.
  • Requires work in outdoor conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold.
  • Overtime, extended, or non-traditional working hours may be required.
  • Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions—stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
  • Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, hard hats, face shields, hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
  • Requires frequent typing and use of computer and other office equipment such as copier, printer, calendar, telephone, etc.

Schedule

This role provides 24/7 coverage for the duration of each 14-day shift, including overtime and on-call rotations after regular hours, weekends, and holidays.
