About the role
The Field Service Technician will be assigned a truck and travel daily to customer job sites to repair and maintain equipment. This role requires experienced, responsible technicians who can diagnose and repair equipment working independently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair equipment working independently
- Perform repair work on a wide variety of equipment including complete machine overhauls, minor repairs such as fixing leaks, changing fluids and filters, rebuild components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic pumps
- Diagnostics include checking pressures, voltages, locating sources of noise or vibration
- Disassemble machines, order parts, make repairs, assemble machines, check machine operation to ensure repairs are complete and confirm problem is fixed and is work ready
- Document work orders, track progress of repairs, and order parts using Anderson's systems
- Maintain focus on safety protocols and regulations at all times
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with a two-year Technical degree or comparable military training
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance
- Working knowledge of equipment operations, mechanical functions, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with others or independently while out in the field
- Proficiency with computers and diagnostic programs provided by manufacturers
- Ownership of adequate hand tools
- Valid Driver’s License, CDL preferred
Qualifications

- Two-year Technical degree or comparable military training
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance

Schedule
Hours vary based on customer needs and may require overnight travel.
