Field Service Representative
About the role
The Field Service Representative will provide hands-on technical and operations support of reciprocating compression equipment and supporting utility systems within customer facilities during commissioning, start-up, operations, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, performance testing, and trouble-shooting situations as required. They will serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all technical areas of Field Services customer support.
Responsibilities
- Undertake customer support tasks, complete on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, and tests.
- Ensure proper task management so that all work progresses according to the schedule.
- Serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all technical areas of Field Services customer support.
- Provide technical and mechanical services support to all internal and external customers in settings such as workshops, compressor stations, process plants, etc.
- Deliver, install, repair, maintain, and test equipment.
- Resolve operational issues in the field.
- Identify any issues and perform troubleshooting procedures.
- Determine customer needs and offer recommendations.
- Collaborate with colleagues and share information to ensure top-notch customer support.
- Manage work progress and ensure adherence to schedules.
- Track and document work progress and write service reports.
- Adhere to all of the company's rules and regulations.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Travel 200-300 days per year anywhere from 2-14 weeks at a time.
- Work extended hours up to 10-14 hours per day including weekends/holidays, 6 - 7 days per week.
- Ascend/descend ladders to examine equipment, position yourself to examine equipment including in confined spaces, move boxes weighing from 40 -50 pounds, work in outdoor weather conditions, walk long distances and share company vehicles with other employees at customer sites.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates Degree with a technical concentration (Bachelor’s Degree recommended) or equivalent work experience (minimum).
- Formal training in a technical certificate program.
- Technical training in the oil and gas industry or associated industry.
- Completion of all Reciprocating Compression Systems product training.
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in Reciprocating Compression.
- Mets all sublevel (FS Mechanic I, II, III, IV and Crew Chief) requirements.
- Must have the following attributes: Safety focused, Service-oriented, Business focused, A self-starter, Dependable with ability to multiple-task successfully, Mature, with the ability to take and provide direction and thick on the fly based on the type of work and needs of the customer / business, Professional administrative and organizational skills, Results oriented with a sense of urgency, Excellent verbal and written communication skills and above average interpersonal skills are required, Clear, concise, and accurate service reporting is required.
