About the role
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
This position requires travel to job sites up to 75% of the time. Most of this travel will be overnight, as this position supports projects for the entire NRF Southcentral region, which encompasses OK, AR, TX, MS, LA, and the Memphis areas. Scheduling of jobsite visits is often accomplished with short notice of sometimes as little as one working day.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary company representative at assigned jobsites and maintain a professional, customer-focused relationship with customers, general contractors, superintendents, project managers, foremen, rod busters, and other jobsite personnel.
- Primarily responsible for investigating, initiating, and coordinating solutions to problems or issues identified at the jobsite. This involvement may include proactively engaging individuals from Project Management, Detailing, Sales, Fabrication, Transportation, and other departments.
- Proactively identify potential problems and trends that could impact rebar installation, the construction schedule, material requirements, project costs, or the customer relationship.
- Write reports for all jobsite visits made, including observations, issues identified, actions taken, and follow-up items.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field, OR three (3) years of experience as a rebar detailer OR demonstrated construction project management experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.
- Strong product knowledge and understanding of commercial construction
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, rebar placing drawings, specifications, and other construction documents
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to professionally handle difficult or high-pressure situations
- Ability to travel extensively to jobsites: must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to safely access and navigate active construction jobsites, including walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders and stairs, and riding lifts when necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years commercial construction or rebar product experience
- Residing in the territory or willingness to relocate to the territory
