About the role

The Americas BRUSH Team at Baker Hughes is the leader in high-voltage rotating equipment services. Our team delivers installation, maintenance, and repair solutions for generators, motors, and sync condensers across North and South America.

Responsibilities

  • Performing mechanical inspections, maintenance, and repairs on generators per OEM standards
  • Stripping down, rebuilding, fault-finding, and overhauling large generators and related equipment
  • Installing and commissioning turbo-driven generators, sync condensers, and motors
  • Conducting mechanical alignments and basic electrical tests using optical, laser, and electrical systems
  • Interpreting technical specifications and preparing method statements and customer reports
  • Supporting winding specialists with in-situ winding repairs and rewinds
  • Delivering solutions beyond the scope when required to meet customer needs

Requirements

  • Hold an accredited Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience
  • Have 5+ years of hands-on experience with motors and/or generators
  • Be self-sufficient, resourceful, and a strong problem solver
  • Communicate effectively in spoken and written English
  • Be willing to travel offshore and overseas for assignments and training
  • Demonstrate initiative and confidence when operating independently on-site
  • Lead by example in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practices
  • Be a collaborative team player with the ability to work solo when needed
