About the role
Custom Truck One Source (CTOS) is a 30+ year industry leader with 40+ locations, 2,500+ employees, and a 10,000+ unit fleet supporting utility, telecom, rail, construction industries and more. We are currently hiring a Field Service Mechanic.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the field expert diagnosing and repairing specialized utility equipment
- Work on bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes, service trucks, and related equipment
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain aerial, construction, and light/heavy-duty truck systems
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, parts replacement, and repairs on rental, customer, and company units
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Five years of related experience (Shop Tech and Field Tech)
- Valid driver's license (CDL Class B preferred)
- Own tools
- Proficient in documentation using software, meeting deadlines and schedules
Preferred Skills
- Electrical, schematic / blueprints, hydraulic, welding, and related experience
- Experience with Quick Serve, DTNA, or related diagnostic software
Mental/Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly work in outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions
- The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, and extreme heat
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
- Positive attitude, professionalism, punctual attendance
- Physical capability for lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
- The ability to bend, stoop, and lift, up to 50 lbs
- Comfort with heights and manual labor
- Manual dexterity for operating tools and equipment
