Responsibilities
- Manage projects and service assignments as needed.
- Act as direct liaison between BearCom technicians and Motorola or end customer.
- Work with customers to prepare quotes, bids, and schedules for completing installation and repair tasks.
- Aid in organizing and scheduling upcoming field work.
- Provide technical support in field operations.
- Check functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
- Install, maintain, and provide technical support and service of wireless communications equipment such as: UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems.
- Operate mobile, portable radio equipment, dispatch consoles, and microwave systems, using both conventional and trunked radio technologies.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve wireless communication equipment problems with customers in a positive and efficient manner.
- Provide hands-on and oversight of communications equipment and peripheral hardware installation such as base stations, repeaters, mobile devices, portable devices, wireless broadband devices, and CCTV equipment.
- Analyze and comprehend diagnostic test results in order to repair and program radios and wireless equipment.
- Deliver and execute customer Functional Acceptance Test Plans (FATP), perform and document results of site surveys and assessments per defined customer requirements in pre-sales delivery and post installation.
- Make minor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer requests and/or deploy factory software/firmware updates.
- Handle training and coaching of field service technicians and installers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of leadership experience in technical management in the wireless industry, or similar experience.
- Experience in developing, qualifying, and directing new business opportunities through customer interface and requirements gathering process.
- Knowledge of, and experience with a network of vendor resources.
- Experience managing complex project implementations.
- Understanding of business practices P&L responsibility.
- Excellent customer relationship skills.
- Extensive knowledge/understanding of 2-way radio theory, RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands and communications systems.
- Technical leadership experience associated with wireless solutions.
- Technical leadership experience associated with multiple 2-way radio technologies.
- Appropriate degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience; combination of education with professional experience and specialized training is also acceptable.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Security Clearance is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Background checks are part of the hiring process, which may include a Motor Vehicle check.
