Job Responsibilities
- Act as the technical authority on solar hardware, offering expert guidance to internal teams, contractors, and customers.
- Train and mentor contractors on the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of solar products.
- Develop, update, and manage technical documentation, including installation manuals, datasheets, and other technical documentation as required.
- Provide timely and effective technical support to customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to solar products.
- Collaborate with third-party suppliers of electrical equipment to ensure compatibility and optimal performance of solar products.
- Collect and analyze customer feedback and product performance data to contribute to continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Stay current on industry trends, standards, and competitive product landscape to inform product development and support strategies.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in field service engineering for solar or related systems such as batteries.
- Strong understanding of solar equipment, system design, and installation best practices.
- Experience in solar and roofing is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of solar and electrical code and compliance.
- Proven experience in technical documentation and customer support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with contractors and suppliers.
- Equally comfortable giving a presentation in an office or working with a crew on a jobsite.
- Familiar and comfortable with safely working at heights.
- Advanced analytical skills, and creativity in solving problems/trouble shooting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), with the ability to effectively work with others in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel (25-50%).
